Training Program Settings & Notifications

Set when users are notified about a training program. You can choose notifications for assignment, reminders, and completion in the Training Program settings.

Training Program Settings & Notifications

The Settings & Notifications section of a Training Program defines how the program is assigned and how users enrol. Notifications are not configured here; they are sent by Automations.

How do I open the settings?

  1. Go to Modules > Learn > Training Management > Training Programs.

  2. Click Add Training Program, or open a draft program and click Edit.

  3. Go to Settings & Notifications.

Which settings can I change?

  • Assignment Type: Mandatory (users must complete this training program) or Recommended (users can choose whether to complete it).

  • Registration Type: Automatic (users are enrolled automatically), Requires Approval (users must request and be approved) or Optional (users can self-enrol at their discretion).

  • Manager Enrolment: Allow managers to enrol team members lets managers start an enrolment for their team. If approval is required, the enrolment still follows the approval process. This setting cannot be changed for archived programs.

  • Content Completion Order: Require Sequential Completion makes users complete the items in order.

  • Version Handling: Reassignment on New Version controls what happens when a new version of an assigned Learn Content is published: Always, Only if never completed or Never. It can only be changed while the program is a draft.

Where are the notification options?

The section does not show notification options. Training messages, such as enrolment in a mandatory training, training not started, approaching deadline, overdue training and completion, are sent through Platform Automations. If you see Automations in the backoffice menu, you can review the Mandatory Training triggers there. See also Automation trigger types and categories: the full catalog.

How do I save the changes?

  1. Review the options you selected.

  2. Click Save Draft.

If you have not finished the rest of the training program setup, you can save the draft and come back later. When the program is ready, open it and click Publish.
