Where to find courses: the Catalogue and your training programs
Learning in GFoundry comes in two forms. Short courses (Learn Contents) are in the Catalogue, organised by category, and you can open them at any time. Structured training (training programs and curricula) is in Training, with enrollment, dates and progress.
Before you start
Your company uses the Learn module: you see Learn in the side menu, under Development & Growth.
What you find in each place depends on what your company makes available to you.
Courses, Learn Contents, training programs and curricula
Course: the everyday word for any of the three below. On screen, GFoundry uses it for training programs, as in Enroll on course.
Learn Content: a short course (microlearning) made of blocks such as text, video, slides, a PDF, a quiz or a role-play. You find them in the Catalogue and open them without enrolling. They can also be part of a training program.
Training program: several Learn Contents grouped around learning objectives, with dates and sometimes assessments. It can be Mandatory or Recommended and have a deadline. Your company assigns it to you, or you enroll yourself, sometimes with your manager's approval. It is in Training.
Curriculum (plural curricula): a set of training programs linked into a longer path and assigned to you, with your progress across all of them. It is in Training > My curricula. You do not enroll in it.
Steps
Browse the short courses in the Catalogue
In the side menu, open Development & Growth > Learn > Catalogue.
The page shows Categories, one card per category, with how many subcategories or items it holds and, when available, how much of it you have Completed.
Click a category, and a subcategory if there is one, until you see the list of courses. Each row shows the title, a short description and Completed or Not completed.
Click a row to open the course.
See your training programs and the ones you can join
In the side menu, open Development & Growth > Learn > Training.
My training programs lists the programs you are enrolled in, with their status, deadline and progress.
More programs lists the programs you can enroll in. Open one and select Enroll on course. Some need your manager's approval.
My curricula appears when a curriculum is assigned to you.
Which one do I need?
You want to learn something on your own, at your pace: the Catalogue.
You were told to complete a training, or it has a deadline: Training > My training programs.
You want to join a program that is open for enrollment: Training > More programs.
You were assigned a set of programs: Training > My curricula.
Other ways to reach a course
Search. Click the magnifying glass in the header and type a word in Search content by keyword.
Home page. If your company highlights learning, your Home page shows blocks with courses, each with a title your company chose.
Learn > Me. The same highlights, and My content, the courses you have already opened.
Gi, the chat. If your company has it, click the round green button in the bottom-right corner and ask for courses on a topic.
Missions. If your company uses Missions, a mission can include courses as some of its steps.
In the mobile app
Tap Menu at the bottom of the screen and then Learn (swipe left if you do not see it). Inside it, the sections (Catalogue, Training, Me, Achievements) are in the bar at the bottom. The pages and the steps are the same as on the web.
If you do not see this
Your company may use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu. In some companies the Catalogue is called Catalog. The Learn module is where you find courses, quizzes and training.
You do not see Training: your company does not use training programs, or they are not available to your group.
More programs is empty: there are no programs open for enrollment for you right now.
A category shows There are no results for this list...: it has nothing for you yet.
You cannot find a course you were told about: ask the colleague for its link, or contact your platform administrator.
Common questions
Which courses can I take?
Everything you see in the Catalogue is open to you, without enrollment. In Training, you can also join the programs listed in More programs. Your company decides what each group of people sees.
Do I need to enroll in a course from the Catalogue?
No. You only enroll in training programs, from More programs.
Which training is mandatory?
In My training programs, each card shows Mandatory (red) or Recommended (green), and the deadline when there is one.
A course from my training program is not in the Catalogue. Why?
The contents of a training program open from the program page, in Training, not from the Catalogue.
