Skills Mapping: Overview
Skills Mapping links the skills in your Skills Catalogue to what employees do in Learn, Recognition and Evaluation, and shows the result in a skill coverage heatmap.
What is Skills Mapping?
Skills Mapping connects skills to employees from three sources, as long as the related items are tagged with skills from the Skills Catalogue:
Learn: answering tagged quiz questions, finishing tagged videos and opening tagged PDFs.
Recognition: soft skill and hard skill endorsements, when the soft or hard skill is linked to a skill tag.
Evaluation: skill scores of finished evaluations, when the evaluation skill has skill tags, in standard and 360 cycles.
Only items linked to a skill from the Skills Catalogue count. A skill that is not linked to the catalogue can be used in its own module, but it does not appear in Skills Mapping.
Skills Mapping is only available when the Tags feature is active for your organisation. You find it in the Skills Mapping menu.
What can I do with it?
See which skills are covered across your organisation and where there are gaps.
Tag Learn content, quiz questions, recognition skills and evaluation skills with the same skills.
Follow how employees' skills evolve over a period.
How can I use the Skills Mapping Dashboard?
Go to Skills Mapping > Dashboard. The Skill Coverage Heatmap shows users and skills. Choose the date range at the top, and use the filters Categories (Learn, Evaluation, Recognition, Manual), Skill Groups and Users to focus the view. Use the Categories filter to see one source at a time.

Where do I see which skills a Learn Content covers?
The Skills Overview tab inside each Learn Content item shows which skills that content covers, grouped into Level 4 Skills and Level 5 Skills.
Where do I manage the skills?
Go to Skills Mapping > Skills Catalogue, the registry of skills, organised in skill groups. There you can search skills, create one with Add Skill, edit it with Edit Skill, delete it, and restore a deleted skill.
You can add your own skills to any skill group with Add Skill. They become part of your taxonomy and can be linked in Learn, Recognition and Evaluation like any other skill.
How can I associate content to Skill Tags?
Create the skills in Skills Mapping > Skills Catalogue. Then link them where they are used:
Learn: in Learn Content, PDF and video blocks and quiz questions have a Skill Tags field where you can select one or more skills. See How Learn content feeds the skills engine.
Evaluation: the Skill Tags of each skill in Modules > Evaluation & Careers > Career Settings. See How evaluation cycles produce skill ratings.
Recognition: the Skill Tag of each soft skill and hard skill in Modules > Recognition. See How recognition endorsements feed the skills engine.
What about role-play?
Role-plays have skills assigned by AI, and each evaluated session records evidence for them. A role-play skill is considered validated for a user after at least 3 sessions with evidence and an average evidence score of 0.7 or above. This evidence is kept separately and does not appear in Skills Mapping. See How role-play sessions feed the skills engine.
