How evaluation cycles produce skill ratings
When an evaluation is finished, the scores of its skills are sent to Skills Mapping for every skill linked to a skill from the Skills Catalogue. This works for standard and 360 cycles.
How does evaluation produce skill signals?
In every evaluation cycle, the user is rated on the skills of their career skillsets. When the evaluation is finished, GFoundry converts each skill score to a value between 0 and 1, using the scale configured for the cycle, and records it against that skill for the user.
Only skills linked to the Skills Catalogue produce signals. The link is the Skill Tags field of each skill in Career Settings. A skill without skill tags is still evaluated, but it does not appear in Skills Mapping.
Skills Mapping is only available when the Tags feature is active for your organisation.
How do I link evaluation skills to the Skills Catalogue?
Go to Modules > Evaluation & Careers > Career Settings and open the career.
In Skillsets, expand the skillset and open the skill.
In Skill Tags, select the matching skills from the Skills Catalogue.
Click Update.
If you do not see the Skill Tags field, the Tags feature is not active for your organisation.
What are Job Category Skill Scales?
In the same skill form, Job Category Skill Scales lets you choose the skill scale for each job category of the career. This way the same skill can be rated with a different scale for different job categories. The scales themselves are defined in Evaluation Scales Settings. See Managing Job Category Skill Scales.
What changes in 360 cycles?
In 360 cycles, peers also rate the user's skills. You assign them per user with Manage Peers, and each peer can have a Peer Type: Reports, Lateral or Manager. In a Feedback 360 cycle, the skills rated are the ones of the Skillset selected when the cycle was created. See How Feedback 360 uses Skillsets for competency evaluation.
Where do I see the resulting skill ratings?
Inside the cycle, in each user's evaluation.
In Skills Mapping > Dashboard. Select Evaluation in the Categories filter to see only the evaluation signals.
