Evaluation Cycles: Create and Configure a Cycle

Create a new evaluation cycle from the Evaluation Cycles page and define its name, dates, weights, rules and access. When you create it, you can also make it a 360 evaluation.

GFoundry backoffice: the Evaluation Cycles page with Open Cycles and the Add Cycle button

How do I create a new evaluation cycle?

  1. Go to Modules > Evaluation & Careers > Evaluation Cycles. Cycles are listed in Open Cycles, Future Cycles and Closed Cycles.

  2. Click Add Cycle.

  3. Enter the Cycle Name and Cycle Description. If your platform has several languages, fill them in each language tab.

  4. Set the Cycle Period and the Evaluation Period date ranges.

  5. Complete the weights, rules and access settings described below.

  6. Click Create.

What can I configure in the cycle form?

  • Evaluations Weight: a slider that splits the final score between Smart Goals and Skills. The two values always add up to 100%.

  • Has eligibility items?: adds eligibility items to the evaluations of this cycle.

  • Ask for text justification when the highest score is selected? and Ask for text justification when the lowest score is selected?: the employee and the manager must write a justification when they choose those scores.

  • Minimum characters: the minimum length of that justification.

  • Groups Segmentation: use Select Group to limit the cycle to specific groups. If you select no groups, any user will have access to the cycle.

How do I set up a 360 cycle?

The 360 options are only available when you create the cycle.

GFoundry backoffice: the 360 options of the Add Cycle form with Feedback 360 and the Skillset field

  1. Select Is this a 360 evaluation?. Peers can then rate the user's skills.

  2. For a 360 evaluation, set Peers evaluation percentage on final evaluation score. Peers only evaluate skills, so this percentage only affects the skills score.

  3. If you want a skills-only feedback cycle, also select Feedback 360 and choose the Skillset to rate. See Feedback 360 Cycles.

  4. Click Create.

Cycles without these options show the type Standard.

Can I edit a cycle after I create it?

Yes. Open the cycle and click Edit at the top of the page. The Edit Cycle window lets you change the name, description, dates, weights and groups, then click Update.

Once the cycle has started, Has eligibility items? and the text justification options can no longer be changed. The 360 options cannot be changed after creation.
