How role-play sessions feed the skills engine
A role-play is created with an AI assistant inside a Learn Content item, and the AI assigns the skills it exercises. Each evaluated learner session then records evidence for those skills, based on the rubric scores.
How is a role-play created?
Go to Modules > Learn > Learn Content and open the content item.
Add the Role Play block and select Create. If you do not see this block, role-play is not available for your organisation.
The Role-Play Coach Agent opens. Describe the scenario you want learners to practice, in plain language.
Reply to the assistant to adjust the proposal until it matches what you want.
Use Test role play to try it as a learner would.
Use Publish to make it available.
As the window says, the assistant can make mistakes: review and test the role-play before publishing.
How are skills assigned to a role-play?
You do not pick skills from a list. The AI derives them from the scenario and from the evaluation criteria it creates. They are shown in the Skills field of Role Play Details. To change them, change the scenario with the assistant. Specific guidance on the situation, the audience and the expected behaviour produces sharper skills.
Where do I see the role-play structure?
The Role Play Details page, in the Overview tab, shows the Persona, Character, Language, Expected duration, Skills, Status and Last updated, plus the Milestones and Evaluation Metrics. In Test role play, the side panels show the Stages, Criteria and Skills, and the result appears in the Evaluation tab.
What happens when a learner runs a session?
Each session is evaluated against the rubric. For each criterion, the skills linked to it receive a contribution based on the score:
Score 2: full contribution.
Score 1: partial contribution.
Score 0: no contribution.
The result is one evidence record per session and per skill.
When is a skill considered validated?
A role-play skill is considered validated for a user when the user has at least 3 sessions with evidence for that skill and the average evidence score across them is 0.7 or above.
Where do admins see the sessions?
In Role Play Details, the Sessions tab lists each learner session with User, Status, Score, Turns, Duration and Started. Open a session to read the conversation.
Does role-play appear in Skills Mapping?
No. Role-play evidence is kept separately from Skills Mapping, whose dashboard shows signals from Learn, Evaluation, Recognition and manual entries. See What is GFoundry's Skills Taxonomy?.
