How do I add a video file (not a YouTube link) to a Learn Content?
You can upload a video file directly to a Learn Content, or link a YouTube video. Uploaded files are processed and served by GFoundry.
Upload a video file
Open the Learn Content in the Backoffice and edit its video content.
Choose Upload video. To use a YouTube video instead, choose YouTube link.
Drag the file into the upload area, or click it to browse. Accepted formats: MP4, MOV, WebM, AVI, MKV and MPEG. The maximum size is shown in the upload area.
Wait while the file uploads and is processed. The status changes from Uploading to Queued for processing, Processing video and finally Video ready.
Save the video content.
You can close the window while the video is processing; the upload continues in the background. Settings such as Allow video seeking can only be saved after processing finishes.
Replace or remove a video
To replace it, use Replace video and upload the new file. The current video keeps playing until the new one is ready.
A video that is still being processed cannot be deleted. Wait for processing to finish, then delete it.
If the upload is rejected
Unsupported file type: convert the video to MP4 and try again.
File is too large: compress the video or shorten it, then upload it again.
Storage quota exceeded: your platform has reached its video storage limit. Contact Support.
Processing failed: try Upload a different file; if it fails again, contact Support and say which Learn Content it is for.
Other places
Quiz questions cannot contain videos.
News articles can embed a video by link in the text, but you cannot upload a video file there.
