Curated Content Categories

Use curated categories to organize GFoundry-provided Learn content and move it into the category structure you use for your learners. Curated content starts unpublished, so you still need to edit each item and set its category before learners can access it.

What are curated content categories?

Curated content categories are categories in the Learn module that contain content provided by GFoundry. This content can be moved into any category you created in Learn.

By default, curated content items are unpublished. They are meant to be reviewed, assigned to the right category, and then published when you are ready.

How do I move a curated content item into my own category?

Open the content item, select Edit, and change the Category field to the category you want to use. Save the changes after updating the category.

If the item is still unpublished, keep it unpublished until you finish reviewing the content and are ready for learners to access it.

Why do curated items stay unpublished by default?

Curated items are created unpublished so you can review them before making them visible to learners. This lets you move the item to the right category first, then publish it when the content is ready.

Once published, the item behaves like other Learn content and follows the same access rules and audience setup used in your environment.

Can I organize curated content with sub-categories?

Yes. Curated content can be moved into any category you created in Learn, including categories that you use to group content into smaller sets with sub-categories.

Use your normal category structure to keep content easy to find for other admins and for learners browsing the Learn catalogue.

Will curated content affect permissions or access rules?

No special permission is needed beyond the access your admin role already has for managing Learn content and categories. After you move the item, its visibility still depends on whether it is published and on the access rules you use for that content.

If you use other Learn features such as Training Programs or Learning Path, the curated item can be used there after it is placed in the right category and made available.
