Feedback Scope Question Types Reference
Learn how to configure a scope question in the Feedback module: each field, the available answer types, and the rules that apply when saving a question.
What can I set when I create or edit a question?
Question Title: the question shown to users. It is required in the default language.
Question Description: extra context or instructions for the question. It is optional.
Answer Type: how people answer the question. See the types below.
Question Category: optional. Groups the question under a category. If you type a name that does not exist, select Create a new Category to create it.
Question position: optional. The order of the question within the scope. It cannot be negative.
This question is required.: checked by default. Uncheck it to make the question optional.
Enabled: on by default. When it is off, the window shows This question is not visible in the feedback form.
What does each answer type do?
Free-text: collects open-ended written answers.
Rate 1-4: users rate on a fixed scale from 1 to 4.
Rate / Text: users give a rating and can add a written comment.
Choice: users pick one of the options you define.
Date: users select a date.
Likert: users answer several statements, picking one of the same options for each. This type only appears in the Answer Type list when it is available on your platform.
What extra settings do some types need?
Choice: select Add Choice to build the list. Each choice has a Display Text, shown to users, and an Internal Value, used for analysis and never shown to users. If you see Allow user text input in the choice window, turn it on to let users type their own text for that choice. The question needs at least one choice.
Rate / Text: set Min Rate and Max Rate (by default 1 and 4). Both are required, Min Rate cannot be negative, and it must be lower than Max Rate. Check Hide text field? if users should only give the rating, without the comment field.
Likert: add the options in Choices with Add Choice, and the statements in Questions with Add Question. You need at least one choice and one question before saving.
How do I save the question?
Select Create for a new question or Save when editing one. If a required field is empty or a rule above is not met, the question is not saved and the field shows what to fix. Reset restores the values the window opened with.
