Departments: create, edit, delete, and assign managers
Create departments, update their details, assign a manager, or delete a department from the Departments list.
Where do I find Departments?
The current canonical menu snapshot provided for this migration does not expose Departments as a standalone visible menu item.
If your tenant exposes a Departments area inside Community Management, use that path. If it does not, treat this article as tenant-specific and confirm the route in your environment before following it literally.
How do I create a department?
Go to the tenant-specific Departments area under Community Management, if it is available in your environment.
Click New Department.
Enter the Department Name.
If needed, select a Country and a Timezone.
Choose a Department Manager if you want to assign one now.
Click Create.
How do I edit a department?
Open the tenant-specific Departments area under Community Management.
Find the department in the list, or use Search departments....
Open the department action menu and select Edit.
Update the Department Name, Country, Timezone, or Department Manager.
Click Save.
How do I assign or change the department manager?
Open the tenant-specific Departments area under Community Management.
Open the department you want to change.
Select a person in Department Manager.
Click Save.
How do I delete a department?
Open the tenant-specific Departments area under Community Management.
Find the department in the list.
Open the department action menu and select Delete.
Confirm the deletion.
