What is GFoundry's Skills Taxonomy?
The skills taxonomy is the shared list of skills in the Skills Catalogue. Learn, Evaluation and Recognition link their items to it, and Skills Mapping shows the resulting signals per user and per skill.
What does the skills system do?
It answers one question for every employee: which skills show up in what they do on the platform. You see the result in Skills Mapping, where Dashboard shows the Skill Coverage Heatmap and Skills Catalogue shows the full list of skills. Skills Mapping is only available when the Tags feature is active for your organisation.
What is the Skills Catalogue?
The Skills Catalogue (Skills Mapping > Skills Catalogue) is the registry of skills, organised in skill groups. Learn skill tags, the Skill Tags of evaluation skills and the Skill Tag of recognition soft and hard skills all point to skills in this catalogue. To add a new skill, create it here and then link the relevant items to it.
Where do the signals come from?
Learn: answering tagged quiz questions, finishing tagged videos and opening tagged PDFs. See How Learn content feeds the skills engine.
Recognition: endorsements on soft and hard skills that have a Skill Tag. See How recognition endorsements feed the skills engine.
Evaluation: the skill scores of finished evaluations, for skills with Skill Tags, in standard and 360 cycles. See How evaluation cycles produce skill ratings.
The dashboard also has a Manual category. Use the Categories filter to see one source at a time.
What about role-play?
Role-plays have skills assigned by AI, and each evaluated session records evidence for them. A role-play skill is considered validated for a user after at least 3 sessions with evidence and an average evidence score of 0.7 or above. This evidence is kept separately and does not appear in Skills Mapping. See How role-play sessions feed the skills engine.
Where do I see the results?
Skills Mapping > Dashboard: the heatmap by user and skill, with filters for date range, Categories, Skill Groups and Users.
Skills Overview tab inside each Learn Content item: which skills that content covers, grouped into Level 4 Skills and Level 5 Skills.
Where do I define the skills themselves?
Create the skills in Skills Mapping > Skills Catalogue. Then link them where they are used:
Learn: the Skill Tags of PDF blocks, video blocks and quiz questions.
Evaluation: the Skill Tags of each skill in Modules > Evaluation & Careers > Career Settings.
Recognition: the Skill Tag of each soft skill and hard skill in Modules > Recognition.
