How is Learn Content Completion Calculated?
Learn which blocks of a Learn Content count towards completion, what "complete" means for each one, and how the completion percentage is calculated.
Why does understanding completion calculation matter?
Completion drives progress in reports, training programs and certificates. In GFoundry, completion is based on the trackable blocks inside a Learn Content. A block only counts when it exists in that content.
What counts as "complete" for each block?
Video Content: the learner watches the video to the end.
Quiz Content: the learner finishes every active quiz mode. If Classic and Genius are both active, both must be finished. The same applies to Ladder and Test mode when they are active. Playing in Battle Mode does not count. A quiz that is not published, or has no quiz mode enabled, does not count as a block.
PDF Content: the learner opens the PDF. If Read Confirmation Needed is on, the learner must tick the checkbox confirming they read it.
Presentation Content: the learner views all the slides.
Tasks: the learner completes every task in the list.
Form: the learner submits the form.
Role Play: the learner completes the role play.
Training Validation & Evaluation: when Enable Employees Training Validation & Evaluation is on, a training manager must record the learner's completion in that tab.
The Discussion Board never counts towards completion. The Text & Media Block and External Content only count when completion tracking for them is active for your organisation.
How is the completion percentage calculated?
The percentage is the share of tracked blocks the learner has completed, rounded to the nearest whole number:
(Number of completed blocks / Total number of tracked blocks) x 100%
The Learn Content is complete when every tracked block is complete.
Can you provide examples of completion rate calculations?
Example 1: content with only a video
Completed blocks: 1
Total tracked blocks: 1
Completion: 100%
Example 2: content with a video and a quiz
If the learner only watches the video: 1 of 2 blocks, so completion is 50%.
The learner must also finish the quiz, in every active mode, to reach 100%.
What practical tips can help with setting completion criteria?
You define what "100% complete" means by choosing which blocks you add. If completion matters for reporting or certificates, include only the blocks you really want learners to finish.
