How to submit an idea and follow its status
In Ideas, click Add idea in a challenge, fill in the form and click Send. Your idea starts as Idea under review, and you follow it in Me.
Before you start
Your company uses Ideas. The challenges (innovation areas) you see depend on your groups.
You can only add ideas to a challenge that is not archived. An archived challenge shows Archived category and has no Add idea button.
Steps
In the side menu, under Participation & Collaboration, open Ideas.
On the Ideas tab, find the challenge and click Add idea. You can also open Me and click Add idea. If there is more than one area, choose one in Choose innovation area.
The Create idea form opens. Fill in the fields of the challenge. Required fields are marked.
In Idea authors, you are already selected. To add colleagues as co-authors, click Add authors. You only see this when the challenge allows several authors.
If you see Set this idea as private?, tick it if you do not want your co-workers to see the idea.
If you see Idea submission authorization, tick the box to agree. You cannot send the idea without it.
Click Send. You see Your idea has been saved!
Follow its status
Open Me. Under My ideas you see all your ideas. Use By status to filter them. Each idea shows one of these statuses:
Idea under review: you sent it and it is waiting for review. You can still edit it.
Approved idea: the idea was approved.
Successful idea: the idea was implemented.
Closed idea: the idea was closed. If there is a reason, you see it in 'Closed idea' status comment.
The people who manage ideas in your company change the status. You get a notification when your idea is approved, implemented or closed, and when someone likes or comments on it. Open the idea to read their notes in Revision comments, which only the authors see.
Edit your idea
While the idea is Idea under review, any of its authors can change it: open the idea, open the three-dot menu, click Edit idea, change the fields and save. After the status changes, you can no longer edit it. You cannot delete an idea yourself. Ask the people who manage ideas in your company.
If your company uses innovation cycles
Inside Ideas you also see Innovation Cycles. A cycle has phases, and you add ideas inside a phase. You can add ideas only while the phase shows Open to new ideas. When it shows Closed to new ideas or Final results, it no longer accepts ideas. Ideas in a cycle cannot be set as private. If you are on the jury of a phase, you also see Vote ideas.
If you do not see this
Your company may not use Ideas, or the module is not available to your group.
Your company may use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu.
You see no Add idea button: the challenge is archived, or the cycle phase no longer accepts ideas.
The private option and the authorization box are not used in every company.
In the mobile app, you cannot create an idea in a challenge that requires a file. Use the web version.
