How can users redo a quiz or a mission, and what happens to their points and badges?
Administrators can let users retry a test automatically, or reset a user's progress in a quiz or a mission from the Backoffice. Points, coins and badges already earned are kept.
Let users retry a test until they pass
In a quiz in Test mode, turn on Allow Retry Until Pass?. Users who fail can take the test again; users who pass cannot. If Require content review on failure is on, a user who fails has to go through the Learn Content again before retrying.
Reset a user's quiz progress
Open the Learn Content and go to the quiz's Quiz Stats.
Use Reset User Answers for one user, or Reset all users progress for everyone.
You need the Learn Manager role. The reset deletes the user's plays, scores and ranking positions for that quiz, so they can play it again from the start.
The reset only affects the quiz. If the Learn Content also has other parts, such as a PDF, those stay completed, so the Learn Content can still show as completed.
Reset a user's mission
Use Reset User's Mission for one user or Reset Mission for everyone. You need the Admin or Missions Manager role. The reset removes the user's progress in the mission, including the badges of its objectives, so they can be earned again. See How to reset mission progress and data for all users.
What happens to points, coins and badges?
Earned points and coins are kept. A reset does not take them away.
Quiz badges are kept. If a badge can be won an unlimited number of times (no Max. Wins limit), the user can win it again after the reset, with its coins. A badge limited to one win is not awarded again.
Classic mode points are only earned when a level is passed, so replaying a level the user fails does not add points.
Test mode does not give points.
Can a user redo a finished quiz without a reset?
No. Once a Classic mode quiz is finished, it cannot be played again until its progress is reset. Editing the quiz does not give users a new attempt.
