How should an administrator manage individual and team goals in Touchpoints and evaluations?

Goals reach Touchpoints and evaluations automatically, but only while they are still open. Knowing when that stops explains most "missing goal" questions.

How should an administrator manage individual and team goals in Touchpoints and evaluations?

Goals reach Touchpoints and evaluations automatically, but only while they are still open. Knowing when that stops explains most "missing goal" questions.

Individual and team goals

  • Individual goal: assigned to one user.

  • Team goal: created for a team. If Sync goal with team is on, the goal is assigned automatically to every team member.

Team goals are part of the evaluation. Depending on the cycle's settings, they are scored together with individual goals or in a separate block with their own scale.

When does a new or changed goal appear?

  • In a Touchpoint: the goals are refreshed every time the Touchpoint is opened, while the Touchpoint is not finished and its period is open. A goal created later appears the next time it is opened.

  • In an evaluation: the goals are refreshed while the self-evaluation is still open. After the self-evaluation is submitted, the goals in the evaluation no longer change, and Sync evaluation does not add them: it only updates the manager.

If a goal created after the self-evaluation was submitted must be evaluated in this cycle, contact Support. Do not create a duplicate goal to make it appear.

Goal statuses

In Progress, Completed, Failed, Aborted and Canceled. Canceled (archived) goals are left out of Touchpoint counts.

Start here when a goal is missing

  1. Confirm the user, the cycle or Touchpoint period, and whether the goal is individual or a team goal.

  2. For a team goal, check that the user is in the team and that the goal is synced with the team.

  3. Check the goal's dates and status.

  4. For an evaluation, check whether the self-evaluation was already submitted when the goal was created.

When should I contact Support?

Contact Support when the goal belongs to the right user or team and period, the Touchpoint or self-evaluation was still open, and the goal does not appear. Include the user, the cycle or period, the goal type, status and creation date, and the team.
