How to Use Marketplace Categories
Use Marketplace Categories to group the items users see in the Marketplace. You can create, edit and delete categories, and assign items to them from the item form.
How do I open Marketplace Categories?
Go to Modules > Marketplace > Marketplace Categories. The list shows each category and its number of items (# Items).
To create a category, click New Category.
To view an existing category and its items, click the category name in the list.
How do I create a category?
From Modules > Marketplace > Marketplace Categories, click New Category.
Enter the Category name (at least 3 characters).
Optionally add a Description.
Click Create.
If your company uses more than one language, fill in the name and description in each language tab.
How do I edit or delete a category?
Open the category from Modules > Marketplace > Marketplace Categories.
In Category Details, click Edit, update the Category name or Description, and click Update.
To remove the category, click Delete at the top of the category page and confirm.
You can also use Quick Edit or Delete from the actions menu of each row in the categories list.
Items that are not assigned to any category are not visible to users. Before you delete a category, assign any items you still want users to see to another category.
How do I assign items to a category?
Categories are assigned in the item form. An item can belong to one or more categories.
Go to Modules > Marketplace > Marketplace Items and open the item.
Click Edit.
Under Marketplace Categories, click Add Category and select the category or categories.
Click Update.
You can also open a category and click New Item: the new item is created already assigned to that category.
