Content Library

The Content Library is the main admin area for creating, organizing, publishing, and analyzing Learn Content items. Use it to manage categories, build content experiences, control visibility, and review reports.

What is the Content Library?

The Content Library is where you create and manage Learn Content items. A content item is the container that holds the learning experience your users will open in Learn.

A content item can be a course-like page, a micro-learning experience, a knowledge resource, or a structured item that later becomes part of a Training Program, Curriculum, or Learning Path.

How do I create a new content item?

Go to Modules > Learn > Learn Content. From there, use Add Content to create a new item.

You can normally start in two ways:

Add Content Manually when you want to build the structure yourself.

Generate Content with AI when you want Gi Learn to create a starting point from a prompt, a PDF, or both.

After the item is created, continue in the content details page to complete the setup and add the actual learning blocks.

What core details can I manage?

From the content details page, you can maintain fields such as the content name, description, thumbnail, and category. Depending on the content type and tenant setup, you may also see controls related to external content, producer or revisor information, segmentation, versioning, and training validation or evaluation.

Use these details to make the content easy to find, easy to understand, and aligned with the audience that should access it.

How do publish status and visibility work?

The action bar controls whether learners can access the item.

Publish makes the content available to its target audience. Unpublish removes that access. Some items can also be Unlisted, which keeps them active but hidden from the catalog or search unless the user has the direct link.

Use Preview & Share to review the learner experience, and use Reports when you want analytics for that specific content item.

What can I build inside a content item?

The learning experience is built with content blocks in the content management areas. Depending on what is enabled, a content item can include blocks such as:

Intro Content Block for the landing section and rich introductory content.

Presentation for slide-based content.

PDF for manuals or downloadable reference material.

Video for recorded lessons or linked media.

Quiz for assessment and reinforcement.

Form, Task, Role Play, or Discussion Board where those flows are enabled in your tenant.

HTML or embedded external content when you need to show material hosted outside GFoundry.

How do categories and curated content work?

The Content Library is also where you manage categories and sub-categories. Use them to organize content, move items into the right part of the library, and keep the learner catalogue readable.

Some tenants also include curated content provided by GFoundry. Curated items are separate from your own authored content and can be moved into your structure by editing their category.

If a category or item is curated, the library shows that state so you can distinguish it from company-managed content.

What should I do after creating content?

A safe workflow is to create the content container, add the core details, build the content blocks, then preview the item before publishing it.

If you are testing, use draft or unlisted states where available instead of publishing too early. After publication, use the content-level reports to review engagement, completion, and quiz-related performance.

Which content article should I open next?
