How to search for a colleague, news or learning content

Use the magnifying glass at the top of any page to search learning content, skills, news and people. The tabs you see depend on the areas your company uses.

Before you start

  • You can always search for people. Searching learning content and skills needs the Learn module, and searching news needs your company to publish news.

Steps

  1. Click the magnifying glass icon at the top of the page. The Search window opens.

  2. Choose a tab:

    • Learn: learning content. Type in Search content by keyword.

    • Skills: choose one or more skills to list the learning content linked to them.

    • News: your company's news. Type in Search news by keyword.

    • People: colleagues. Type a name or email in Search people by name/email.

  3. Click a result. Learning content opens its preview. A news item opens the news. A colleague opens their card.

What you see on a colleague's card

  • Their photo, team and how long they have been on the platform.

  • A side and B side: what they wrote about their professional and personal side.

  • Their communities, if your company uses communities.

  • Shortcuts that depend on the modules your company uses, such as Recognize and strengthen the skills of followed by their name, or Give or ask feedback to followed by their name.

  • To share the card with someone, open the three-dot menu and click Copy user link.

If you see People under Communication & Culture in the side menu, it opens the same people search as a page. The page stays empty until you type a name or email.

If you do not see this

  • No magnifying glass at the top of the page: your company has hidden the search. Use the menu items instead, such as News.

  • A tab is missing: your company does not use that area. Skills only appears when your company has linked skills to its learning content.

  • Your company may use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu.
