How to recognize a colleague's skill
Open a colleague's page in Recognition and press the thumbs-up button next to one of their skills. It saves at once, and you undo it the same way.
Before you start
Your company uses Recognition and has skills switched on. You can tell because a colleague's page shows one or two lists of skills.
You can recognize other people's skills, never your own.
Steps
In the side menu, open Recognition & Rewards > Recognition > Recognize.
In the search bar Or... Search for an individual colleague to recognize, type at least three letters of the name and select the person. Before you type, the list shows your own team.
The colleague's page opens. Scroll down to the skill lists. Each one starts with Recognize <first name> in one or more items in this list:. The first list holds the behavioural skills (soft skills) your company defines. The second holds the technical skills (hard skills) your colleague added to their profile.
Press the thumbs-up button next to the skill. It saves at once, without asking you to confirm. You see Soft skill endorsed! or Hard skill endorsed!.
To undo it, press the same button again. You see Soft skill endorsement removed! or Hard skill endorsement removed!.
What happens next
Your colleague gets a notification.
If your company uses the Community feed, the recognition also appears there. Skill recognitions are never private.
To see who recognized a colleague in a skill, click that skill's line. The list Who recognized <name> in opens.
To see who recognized you, open Recognition > Me and click a skill under I excel in or I know. The list Who recognized me in opens.
In the mobile app
Tap Menu at the bottom of the screen and then Recognition (swipe left if you do not see it). Inside it, the sections of the module are in the bar at the bottom. The pages and the steps are the same as on the web.
If you do not see this
You do not see Recognition in the menu: your company may not use it. Your company may use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu.
The colleague's page has no skill lists: your company has not switched on skills.
The technical skills list is empty: your colleague has not added any technical skills yet.
The thumbs-up buttons are off: your company limits how many skills you can recognize, and you have used them all. A note tells you how many you have left or from which date you can recognize again.
If your menu shows a list of modules instead of groups, open Recognition from that list. The same tabs appear at the top of the page.
