  2. The top of the page shows your totals of Endorsements and Stars.

  3. In My stars, choose Received stars or Given stars. Each tab shows how many there are.

How many stars can I give?

Your company decides. Open Recognition > Recognize and read the note under the Give a star button:

  • You still have N Star Badges, followed by (You have N stars/month to give): you have a monthly allowance, and this is what is left this month.

  • You still have N Star Badges to give: you have a fixed number of stars that does not renew.

  • No note at all: your company has not set a limit, or does not show it.

GFoundry: the Give a Star Badge to multiple colleagues bar with the Give a star button

Why is the Give a star button grey?

You have used all your stars. The note tells you what happens next:

  • Currently, you are unable to give any additional stars. You'll have the opportunity to do so again starting on a date: you get new stars on that date.

  • You do not have any additional stars to give: your stars do not renew.

Can I give a star to several colleagues at once?

Yes. In Recognize, next to Give a Star Badge to multiple colleagues, press Give a star and use Add to choose the people. Each person uses one of your stars, so you can only choose as many people as you have stars left: You still have N Star Badges to give!

Who sees a private star?

If your company allows it, the Give a star window has a Private star box. A private star is only visible to the person who receives it, their manager and you. It does not appear in the Community feed. In lists it carries the Private tag.

Do stars give me points or coins?

Not directly. Giving or receiving stars can unlock badges, and some badges give points or coins.

Am I told when I receive a star?

Yes, you get a notification. Clicking it opens Recognition > Me.

If you manage a team

On the recognitions page of someone in your team, you also see the private stars their colleagues gave them, with the Private tag. Other colleagues do not see them.

In the mobile app

Tap Menu at the bottom of the screen and then Recognition (swipe left if you do not see it). Inside it, the sections of the module are in the bar at the bottom. The pages and the steps are the same as on the web.

If you do not see this

  • You do not see Recognition in the menu: your company may not use it. Your company may use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu.

  • The Private star box is missing: your company does not allow private stars.

  • The Give a star window says There are no stars here yet to give: your company has not set up any stars yet.

  • If your menu shows a list of modules instead of groups, open Recognition from that list. The same tabs appear at the top of the page.
