How to give a star to a colleague
Recognize a colleague with a Star Badge and a short message, from the Recognize tab or from their recognition profile.
What is this for?
A Star Badge is a recognition you give to a colleague, always with a written message: a thank-you note, a review or a simple greeting. Your organization chooses which star badges exist, whether there is a limit on how many you can give, and whether private stars are allowed, so some of the options below may not appear for you. Some organizations also rename these labels.
Give a star to one colleague
Open the recognition area of the platform and select the Recognize tab. The page is titled Recognize your colleagues and lists the members of My Team.
Select your colleague in the list, or find them with the search bar (Or... Search for an individual colleague to recognize). Their recognition profile opens.
Select Give a star. This button does not appear on your own profile.
Under Please choose a star badge, select a badge.
Write your message in the text box. The counter under the box shows how many characters you can still use.
If you see Private star, you can select it so that only your colleague and their manager see the star.
Select Give star. You see Star added successfully.
Give the same star to several colleagues
In the Recognize tab, find Give a Star Badge to multiple colleagues and select Give a star.
Choose the star badge and write your message, as above.
Add the colleagues who will receive the star. You can remove a colleague before you submit.
Select Give star.
If you cannot give a star
You need to select a star badge to proceed! means no badge is selected.
Your text box is empty! means the message is missing. The message is required.
If your organization limits stars, the page shows how many you still have, for example You still have 3 Star Badges to give. When none are left, Give a star is disabled and the page says when you can give stars again, or You do not have any additional stars to give.
