How to join a community and use the community feed
Communities are interest groups you join yourself, each with its own comments. The community feed shows what colleagues have been doing on the platform.
Before you start
Your company uses communities.
Your company may set a maximum number of communities you can belong to at the same time.
Steps: join a community
In the side menu, open Communication & Culture and click Communities. Under Choose your communities, the communities you already belong to are marked. You can also go to My profile and click Add me to communities in My communities.
Click a community to see its description and how many members it has.
Click Join community. You join at once, without a confirmation, and see Community successfully joined.
Steps: comment in a community
Open a community you belong to. The Community comments tab opens.
Click Add comment and write your comment. Type @ to mention someone in the community.
Only members see the comments. If you are not a member, you see To view or write comments you must first join this community. The Community Members tab lists who belongs to the community.
Leave a community
Open the community and click Leave community. You leave at once, without a confirmation.
If you see You have reached the maximum number of simultaneous communities!, leave a community before you join another one.
Use the community feed
In the side menu, open Communication & Culture and click Community feed. You can also open it from the user menu at the top right.
The feed lists recent activity from your colleagues, such as ideas, badges, communities joined, recognitions and goals.
Click a photo to open that colleague's card. Click a line to open what it refers to.
In the mobile app
In the mobile app, the Community feed is in Menu, at the bottom of the screen.
If you do not see this
Communities is missing: your company does not use communities.
Community feed is missing from the user menu: your company has turned it off there.
Your platform has no side menu: Communities and Community feed are in the More box inside the module pages.
The Join community button is greyed out: you have reached the maximum number of communities.
Your company may use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu.
