Why is a mission or learning program still incomplete after the user finished the content?

Verify enrollment, every required component, completion order, scores, statuses, and synchronisation time before changing progress or contacting Support.

Why is a mission or learning program still incomplete after the user finished the content?

Progress is updated as soon as the user finishes a content. If the program still shows as incomplete, the reason is almost always a requirement that is not met yet, not a delay.

Start here

  1. Confirm the user is enrolled in the program or curriculum you are looking at.

  2. Open the program and review every required content, not only the one the user just finished.

  3. Look for a content that is still Not Started or In Progress.

  4. Check whether the program is waiting for someone to validate the completion (see below).

  5. Ask the user to open the program page again. Opening it recalculates the progress, which repairs the rare case where a completion was not recorded at the time.

Is there a delay before progress updates?

No. When a user finishes a Learn Content, the program and curriculum progress are recalculated immediately. There is no scheduled synchronisation to wait for, so waiting will not change the status.

What do the program statuses mean?

  • Not Started: the user has not started any content of the program.

  • In Progress: the user has started, but at least one required content is not finished.

  • Awaiting validation: every content is finished, but the program requires a validator to confirm the completion. The status changes to Completed after that confirmation.

  • Completed: all requirements are met.

  • Failed: the program is finished, but the user's average score is below 50%. The user did complete the content; the label reflects the score.

Why can finishing one content be not enough?

  • Other required contents: the program is complete only when all of its contents are finished.

  • Require Sequential Completion: if this option is on, contents must be finished in order. A later content finished early does not complete the program while an earlier one is pending.

  • Minimum pass percentage inside a Learn Content: a Learn Content can require a minimum score. If the user did not reach it, the content is not finished. If Allow Retry Until Pass is on, the user can try again.

Missions

A mission step is either complete or not complete; there are no intermediate statuses. Steps are completed in order, and a step can be configured to unlock only some time after the previous one. If a later step looks blocked, check whether the previous step is complete and whether the unlock time has passed.

What an administrator should not do

Do not remove and re-enrol the user, or change the program structure, to force a completion. You may lose the user's progress history. If the completion must be corrected, ask Support.

When should I contact Support?

Contact Support when every required content shows as finished, no validation is pending, the user has opened the program page again, and the status is still incomplete. Include the user identifier, the program or mission name, the status of each content, and when the user finished the last one.
