Feedback Scopes Statuses and Lifecycle
Learn what each feedback scope status means and how to enable, disable, edit, or remove a scope. This article also covers read-only scope settings, privacy, permissions, and scope links to OKR feedback.
How do I enable or disable a feedback scope?
Go to Modules > Feedback > Feedback Scopes. In the scope row, open the actions menu and choose Enable or Disable.
You can also open the scope and use Edit if you need to change more than the status. When all scopes are disabled, users cannot provide feedback until you enable at least one scope.
What do the scope settings control?
Open a scope from Modules > Feedback > Feedback Scopes and click Edit. In the scope form, you can change the scope title, description, and context, and you can also control who can use the scope.
The available permission options are Team Managers Only, Self Feedback Only, and Team Managers or Self-Feedback Only. If your company uses private answers, you can also turn on Private Feedback Answers so responses stay confidential and are not used for public metrics.
What does Read-Only Mode do?
Enable Read-Only Mode when you want people to keep viewing past feedback but stop creating new feedback in that scope. This is useful when a process is closed but you still want the history available.
For existing scopes, open the scope, choose Edit, and switch on Read-Only Mode. Users can still view previously submitted feedback, both received and given.
How do feedback scope statuses change over time?
A scope usually moves through three practical states: enabled, read-only, and disabled. Enabled scopes can be used for new feedback, read-only scopes keep the history visible but block new submissions, and disabled scopes are not available for users.
You can change these settings at any time from the scope list or the scope details page. If a scope is no longer needed, you can also delete it from the actions menu in Feedback Scopes.
How do feedback scopes connect to OKRs?
When you create or edit a scope, choose the Scope Context that matches the type of feedback you want. Besides General Feedback, you can use scope contexts tied to OKR items: Objectives Feedback, Key Results Feedback, and Initiatives Feedback.
For OKR-related scopes, users must select the relevant objective, key result, or initiative when giving feedback. That keeps the feedback attached to the right OKR item.
Can I move scopes between environments?
Yes. From Modules > Feedback > Feedback Scopes, use Export Scopes to download your scopes. Use Import Scopes to bring that file into another environment.
This is useful when you want to copy scope setup, permissions, and question structure without rebuilding them manually.
