A Deep Dive into Quiz Stats

Go beyond the final score. Learn how to use the Quiz Stats dashboard to analyze performance by user, by question, and over time.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Quiz Stats dashboard offers powerful, granular insights into how learners are performing on a specific quiz. This data is crucial for evaluating both learner comprehension and the quality of your questions.

How to Access Quiz Stats

  1. Navigate to the "Learn Content" item that contains the quiz you want to analyze.

  2. Go to the Content Management tab.

  3. Click to edit your Quiz block.

  4. Inside the quiz editor, select the Quiz Stats tab.

The dashboard is broken down into three main sections.

1. Quiz Performance

This section provides a high-level visual overview of user activity and performance on the quiz over time.

  • What it is: A chart that visualizes trends in attempts, completions, and scores.

  • How to use it: Use the time filters (Daily, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly) to track engagement. For example, you can see if there was a spike in activity after sending out a reminder. You can also filter the data to see performance in a specific game mode (e.g., "Classic Mode").

2. Questions Performance

This is one of your most powerful tools for improving your content. It lists every question in the quiz and shows the aggregate success rate for each one.

  • What it is: A detailed breakdown of how often each question is answered correctly.

  • How to use it:

    • A question with a low success rate (e.g., 20%) might be poorly worded, confusing, or indicate that the corresponding training material is not clear enough. This is an opportunity to revise either the question or the content.

    • A question with a very high success rate (e.g., 100%) might be too easy and not effectively challenging your learners.

    • You can often Export this data for more detailed offline analysis.

3. Users Performance

This panel shows a list of every user who has attempted the quiz, along with their individual performance.

  • What it is: A leaderboard of user scores and completion statuses for this specific quiz.

  • How to use it: Use this section to quickly identify which learners have successfully mastered the content and which ones may need additional support or a reminder to retake the training.

By using the Quiz Stats dashboard, you can get a complete picture of your assessment's effectiveness—not just who passed or failed, but why. Use these insights to refine your questions, improve your training content, and better support your learners.
