Creating and Managing Quiz Questions
Create quiz questions one by one or import them from a spreadsheet, and keep them organised with difficulty levels, skill tags and status.
What can I do with quiz questions?
Quiz questions are the building blocks of the Quiz Content of a Learn Content item. You can create them one by one in the editor, import many at once from a spreadsheet, export them, and edit, publish, unpublish or delete them.
You manage them in the Quiz Questions tab of the quiz. To open it, go to the content item's Content Management tab and open the Quiz Content row. Game modes and quiz rules are configured separately, in the quiz Settings.
How do I create a new quiz question?
In the Quiz Questions tab, click Add Question (or Click here to add your first Question when the list is empty).
In the Answers tab of the question window, write the Question, the Correct answer and at least one Wrong answer. You can provide up to 3 wrong answers, so each question has 2, 3 or 4 answer options.
Optionally, add an Explanation to help learners understand the answer.
In the Media tab, you can add a Question Image (a square PNG or JPG, 500x500 px recommended) and a Question Audio file (MP3).
In the General tab, set the difficulty level (Easy, Medium or Hard) and the status. If skills are active on your platform, use the Skill Tags tab to tag the question.
Click Add Question. When editing an existing question, click Update Question.
How do I import questions from a spreadsheet?
Importing is the fastest way to create a large quiz. You prepare the questions and answers offline in a single spreadsheet.
In the Quiz Questions tab, click Import Quiz. The Import Quiz Questions window opens.
Click Template File to download the template. Keep its structure: each row is a question, with its answers and the correct-answer indicator.
Fill in the file and save it as an Excel file (.xls or .xlsx).
If your platform has more than one language, choose the language of the questions.
Click Upload XLS file and select your file.
To replace the questions already in the quiz, tick Replace existing questions.
Click Import.
The import runs in the background, and the questions appear in the list when it finishes. Only one import can run at a time for the same quiz. If the import is refused because the quiz is published, unpublish the quiz first.
To update existing questions, click Export Quiz first, edit the exported file and import it again. When exporting, you choose the language.
How do I keep questions organised?
Use the difficulty level and the skill tags to classify questions.
Select several questions to edit or delete them in bulk.
Use Publish and Unpublish on a question to show or hide it without deleting it.
Delete questions you no longer need.
