OKRs: statuses, archived key results and My Company
What the progress labels, closed objectives and archived key results mean, and what you find in My Company, OKR Stats and My Achievements.
What are objectives, key results and initiatives?
An Objective is what you want to achieve in a period. Its Key results measure how you get there, and their progress makes up the objective's progress. Initiatives are the supporting work for a key result: they do not change its progress. In lists they are tagged O, KR and I.
Who can do what?
Leader of an objective: adds, edits, archives and updates its key results and initiatives.
Leader or Contributors of a key result: update its progress and manage its initiatives.
Users of a key result or initiative: follow its progress and history only.
Administrators and OKR Managers can do all of the above, and they are the only ones who can edit, close, reopen or delete an objective.
What do On track, Needs attention and Off track mean?
Each objective, key result and initiative has a progress label: On track, Needs attention or Off track. GFoundry calculates it from the progress expected at this point of the period. When you update a key result, you can choose the label yourself to show how confident you are. None means there is no progress status yet.
At the top of My OKRs, four counters show how many of your objectives are in each state: Objectives without progress status, Objectives On track, Objectives in need of attention and Objectives Off track. Click a counter to filter the list. The filter button also has By progress status.
What is the difference between Active, Closed and All?
Active shows the objectives that are open. Closed shows the objectives that were closed: each one shows Closed objective, the closing date and, if there is one, the note explaining why. All shows both.
An administrator or OKR Manager closes or reopens an objective. The objective's leader cannot.
What happens when a key result is archived?
An archived key result stays visible, with Archived on and the date. It no longer counts for the objective's progress and its progress cannot be updated. If it is unarchived, it counts again. The objective's leader, OKR Managers and administrators can archive and unarchive key results.
Can I create my own objectives?
Only if you see Add objective in the My Objectives section of My OKRs. Administrators and OKR Managers can always create objectives. If you manage a team, you may see it too, depending on how your company set up OKRs (for example, for team objectives). Otherwise, ask the person who manages OKRs in your company.
What is in My Company?
My Company shows the Long term strategy, with the company's Vision, Mission and Strategy as written by your administrators. A box is empty if nothing was written. Below, All Objectives lists the company's objectives, with the same Active, Closed and All tabs and the same filters.
What does OKR Stats show?
OKR Stats opens on Global stats. Objectives overview shows the Overall progress, how many objectives there are, how many are completed, overdue or closed, and how many are in each progress state. Key results & Initiatives overview does the same for key results and initiatives. You may also see one tab per team.
Which OKR achievements can I earn?
In My Achievements the badges are grouped into Regular check-in achievements, Objectives success achievements, Key result success achievements and Initiative conclusion achievements. Which badges exist depends on your company.
Why don't I see OKRs in my menu?
Your company may not use OKRs. Your company may also use a different name for this area or place it elsewhere in the menu. You normally find it under Development & Growth > OKR's.
In the mobile app
Tap Menu at the bottom of the screen and then OKR's (swipe left if you do not see it). Inside it, the sections of the module are in the bar at the bottom. The pages and the steps are the same as on the web.
