Why did imported goals or Individual Development Plans (IDPs) not appear or update as expected?
Review the target cycle, import result, identifiers, row errors, existing goal or Individual Development Plan (IDP) status, and visibility before uploading the file again.
Follow this troubleshooting flow
Confirm the import file, date and time, administrator, and exact evaluation cycle or year-cycle period selected during the import.
Review the import result and note how many rows were created, updated, skipped, or failed.
Open the details for failed rows and read the validation message and raw data.
Confirm that each row identifies the intended user and, when updating an existing item, the intended goal or IDP.
Check that dates, goal type, values, weights, and other required fields use the accepted format for that cycle.
Open one affected user's record and confirm the cycle, period, item status, and whether the administrator's profile can see it.
Reload the cycle data after the import finishes. Do not upload the same file again until you know whether the first import created or updated records.
How should I interpret the import result?
Created: a new goal or IDP was added. Check the target cycle and period if it is not visible where expected.
Updated: an existing item was matched and changed. Confirm that you are reviewing that same item and user.
Failed: the row was not applied. Use its validation message to correct the source file.
Mixed result: some rows succeeded and others failed. Correct only the failed rows to avoid duplicate or unintended updates.
Why might a successful item still be difficult to find?
The item may belong to another period, use a different goal type, be assigned through a team, or have a status that changes where it is displayed. Visibility can also depend on the administrator's organisational scope and the user's evaluation assignment.
What can an administrator do safely?
Use the current import template, correct clearly identified row errors, and test a small validated sample when appropriate. Do not repeatedly upload the full file, change user identifiers, or remove existing goals merely to force the result to appear.
When should I contact Support?
Contact Support when a row is reported as created or updated but the matching item cannot be found, or when a valid row repeatedly fails without a clear validation message. Include the cycle and period, import time, result counts, affected row number, non-sensitive identifiers, validation message, and whether the item was intended to be created or updated.
