Question Types and Configuration Guide
Learn how to configure a scope question in the Feedback module. This guide explains each field, the available answer types, and the rules that apply when saving a question.
What can I set when I create or edit a question?
Question Title: Enter the question text shown to users. This field is required and must be filled in before you can save.
Question Description: Add extra context or instructions for the question. Use it when the title alone is not enough.
Answer Type: Choose how people will answer the question. The available types are Free-text, Rate 1-4, Rate / Text, Choice, Date, and Likert.
Question Category: Assign the question to a content category. This field is required.
Question position: Set the order of the question within the scope.
Question required: Select this if users must answer the question before submitting feedback.
Enabled: Use this to control whether the question is available in the feedback form. If it is not enabled, the question is not visible to users.
What does each answer type do?
Free-text: Collects open-ended answers. Use it for comments, suggestions, or explanations.
Rate 1-4: Lets users choose a score from 1 to 4. Use it when you want a simple rating.
Rate / Text: Combines a rating with a written explanation.
Choice: Lets users pick one predefined option.
Date: Lets users select a date.
Likert: Uses a scale made of several choices. This type also has its own choice list.
What extra settings do some question types need?
For Choice and Likert questions, you need to add choices. Use Choices and Add Choice to build the list.
Each choice has its own Display Text and Internal Value. If your company has the option enabled, you can also turn on Allow user text input so users can add their own text for a choice.
For rating questions, you can set Min Rate and Max Rate. The minimum must be lower than the maximum.
For Likert questions, you can also add questions under Questions using Add Question. If required, you must add at least one item in the relevant list before saving.
How do I save the question?
When you finish, select Create for a new question or Save when editing an existing one. If you leave required fields empty, the question cannot be saved.
