Why can't a user submit Future Preparation or their development plan?
Check every relevant goal and Individual Development Plan, identify pending actions, and determine who must act before the user or manager can submit Future Preparation.
Follow this troubleshooting flow
Confirm that you are checking the correct user, evaluation cycle, and period.
Confirm that Future Preparation is open and available for the user's role.
Open the user's goals and Individual Development Plans for that cycle or period.
Review every relevant item, not only the number of items needed to meet the minimum requirement.
Identify any goal or development plan that is incomplete, in draft, awaiting approval, or returned for changes.
Confirm who owns each pending action: the user, their manager or approver, or an administrator.
After the pending items are resolved, refresh the record and try the submission again.
Why can submission remain blocked after the minimum requirement is met?
A cycle may require a minimum number or type of goals and development plans. Meeting that minimum does not necessarily make the process ready for submission.
If another relevant item exists in draft, is incomplete, or is waiting for approval, that item may still block submission. Check the status of the complete list rather than counting only the approved or completed items.
What should I check for each goal or development plan?
Draft or incomplete: ask the responsible user to complete the required information and submit the item.
Awaiting approval: confirm who the approver is and ask that person to approve it or return it with the required changes.
Returned for changes: ask the responsible user to review the feedback, update the item, and submit it again.
Approved or completed: no further action is normally required for that item.
Unexpected or no longer applicable: confirm its origin and the policy for the cycle before an authorised administrator edits or removes it.
What configuration should I verify?
The required number and type of goals or development plans.
Whether individual goals, team goals, or both count for the process.
Whether approval is required and which role is responsible.
Whether the items belong to the correct cycle or period.
Whether the process is open for the user and their manager.
These rules can vary between organisations and cycles. Verify the active configuration instead of relying on requirements from a previous cycle.
The user or manager still cannot submit
Confirm that no relevant item remains in draft, incomplete, awaiting approval, or returned for changes.
Check that the required minimum and item types are satisfied.
Confirm that all items belong to the selected cycle or period.
Check that Future Preparation and the responsible person's step are still open.
Refresh the page and review any validation message shown during submission.
Do not create extra goals or development plans simply to work around a blocked submission. Resolve the status or configuration issue first.
When should I contact Support?
Contact Support when every relevant item is in the expected status, the configured requirements are met, and submission is still blocked. Include:
The affected user's name or identifier.
The evaluation cycle and period.
Whether the user or manager is trying to submit.
The number, type, and status of the relevant goals and development plans.
The configured minimum or approval rule you checked.
Any message displayed during submission.
